Resqunit reveals long-term development projects

Est. Reading: 2 minutes

In Resqunit, we constantly aim to think smarter and be innovative – that is why we introduce new electronic solutions for the fishing industry.

Electronic Time Release

Based on last year’s sales and market feedback, the company has gained valuable information from business and industry, both at home and abroad. Our product is now even better adapted for use in international commercial markets.

In June 2020, the first ETR (Electronic Time Release) prototype was successfully tested. Cotton thread has been replaced by an electronic release mechanism. This provides 100% predictability and thus an even greater chance of retrieving lost fishing equipment at sea.

Energy-efficient sensors

By using company-developed smart and pressure-tolerant electronics under water, we can also collect data from each catch operation by using energy-efficient sensors.

We envisage data acquisition of temperature, position, time, currents, salinity level, quantity of light, movements and catch-monitoring, which can be retrieved from sensors and assembled in one or several data points.

Data acquisition from sensors can be assembled into one or several data points.

Making the global fishing industry sustainable

Technology such as IoT (Internet of Things), Big Data and Block Chain facilitates smart use of such data. Could we, for instance, provide fishermen with a better understanding of the reasons for a good or a bad catch?

82% of the fishery industry believes that new technology is crucial for the profitability potential in the sea food industry.

Data acquisition can for sure contribute to making the global fishing industry sustainable and more environment-friendly, and secure fishing for future generations.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and predictive analysis

Data systems will be able to recognise complex patterns and make intelligent decisions based on acquired data. By comparing data and catches, machine learning can be used to enable data systems to make predictive analyses.

One example is to estimate in what areas one can expect a great occurrence of species below minimum measurements.

We are leading the way

In 2018, CEO of The Norwegian Seafood Association (NSL), Robert Eriksson, said that technology is a key concept for tomorrow’s seafood industry.

We agree!
